Purpose and background

Sistema.bio is seeking a qualified agency or contractor to help develop and support a global health and safety transformation programme.

The assignment is intended to reduce risks to employees, partners, farmer customers and household members while strengthening practical safety management, long-term safety culture and sustained behavioural safety.

Sistema.bio operates through dispersed field teams and partner networks serving rural customers across Africa, Asia and Latin America. The engagement therefore requires a scalable, field-ready approach that combines engineering, behavioural and governance controls; applies practical and proportionate risk management aligned with As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) principles; and recognises that operational risks, household conditions and the effectiveness of controls may change over time.

The successful bidder will be expected to develop practical, implementation-ready tools and programmes, not only policies, audits or one-time training. Strengthening long-term safety culture, reinforcing safe behaviours and sustaining adoption across Sistema.bio’s operations, partner networks and customer households are central outcomes of the assignment. The programme should also support clear accountability and escalation of critical risks, continuous reassessment and learning, and practical management of residual risks that cannot be fully eliminated.
