700 digesters shipped around the world in just two months
To attend the global demand of high-quality Sistema.bio digesters in our 5 regions, the factory has increased its production rate by innovating in the manufacturing process, hiring new full-time members and doubling production space. Thanks to the effort of the factory and logistics team, Sistema.bio manufactured 700 systems in the first three months of 2018 only. And this is not all, wait for even more in the next months!!!
+700 blue flames already shining in Kenya
In just one year since the start of operations in Kenya, Sistema.bio team has reached a record number of systems sold, never seen before in Sistema.bio’s history. Despite the weather; sunny or through the heavy rains, our team is working tirelessly to bring the blue flame to the homes of our farmers.
From Sistema.bio we say a big thank you to all our partners, investors and above all, our customers who have believed in our innovative technology. The support from all has continued to enable us to shine more than 700 blue flames to small-holder farmers in rural Kenya while profitably managing all the waste in their households and safeguarding their health.
Sistema.bio India office is launching
During 2017 Sistema.bio reached India through CINI project, an initiative of TATA trust and FactorE. For this project, we installed 60 domestic systems in Gujarat county providing with biogas and bioslurry to over 560 people. Only one year later, we have incorporated our subsidiary, hired a full team and opened offices to deliver a disruptive waste to energy solution in a way that has never available before for the Indian population.
India has the greatest biogas potential with smallholder farmers on earth. Warm temperatures, high availability of waste, and a culture accustomed to the efficient use of resources has proven to be the ideal environment for Sistema.bio technology and programming to deliver impact to one of the largest population of small-scale farmers in the world. For this first year of operations, the goal is installed 500 units, for domestic and productive farmers.
Succesful closure of the National Biogas Nicaragua Program and Sistema.bio
In March 2018, Sistema.bio closes 2 years of collaborating with the Biogas Nicaragua Program (PBN). Sistema.bio Nicaragua has installed more than 315 domestic and productive biodigesters to date.
New central office in Mexico
After a big earthquake hit Mexico City in September last year, Sistema.bio headquarters moved from one of the most affected neighbourhoods to Roma Norte, sharing a beautiful Victorian house along with IRRI Mexico, our sister NGO and other Mexican social enterprises. On March 5th, article “Making Manure great again” was nominated as one of the 10 finalists of over 260 articles on VII Iberoamerican Journalism Awards of IE Business School, this award is sponsored by CAF and CNN Spanish.
