Sistema.bio Launches Feasibility Study for Carbon Program in Peru
Sistema.bio has begun a feasibility study to implement a carbon program in Peru. The goal is to scale the impact of biodigester technology and generate long-term economic and environmental benefits.
Following a successful project in Malawi, Sistema.bio is once again partnering with KliK Foundation, a Swiss entity that drives emission-mitigation projects, to bring this program to the South American country. The company has completed a baseline study that provides the technical foundation to measure the greenhouse gas reduction potential of biodigesters and assess the project’s viability. The next steps include a public consultation in October to integrate the perspectives of local communities and other key stakeholders, followed by visits from independent auditors to review the project design, technical approach, and financial strategy. The results of these assessments will be submitted to KliK’s review committee, with the goal of launching a carbon project next year.
This effort is supported by Tereo, Sistema.bio’s partner in Peru, ensuring regionally aligned execution. With this project, Sistema.bio strengthens its commitment to accelerating the implementation of transformative agricultural solutions.
