Our Farm
Carbon Programs

Farming and
Climate Change

Industrialized, large scale agriculture makes up for about 25% of all greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).

These emissions exacerbate the pressing issue of climate change, which, in turn, poses a significant threat to the sustainability of our natural resources, including biodiversity, soil quality, and water availability—critical components needed to meet the escalating global food demand driven by a growing population.

Smallholder-farmers are key players in our social fabric: they take care of the land and produce a majority of the world’s food, yet live trapped in poverty, and threatened by climate change.

Impacting Farmers
with Carbon Programs

Boosting investments to help small-scale farmers adapt to the impacts of the climate crisis is more urgent than ever, as exposed by UN’s International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

Sistema.bio technology supports farmers to fight and adapt to climate change and continue to produce our food tomorrow, and our FarmCarbon credits bring the financing needed to adopt this technology at the scale we need. Learn more about FarmCarbon credits by watching this video.
