Biodigesters

Sistema Kenya has been in operations in Kenya since 2017, We have expanded our footprint in Africa to 11 countries with operations in:

Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and Morocco.

We have installed over 13,000 domestic biodigesters across the continent, empowering more than 80,000 households to produce renewable energy at the household and farm levels.

By partnering with implementation partners across Africa such as Ecogen, Lanforce Energy, Engie Energy Access, and Farmerline, we have been able to scale our impact, reaching more communities and promoting renewable energy adoption in underserved regions.

In doing so, we have achieved impressive milestones: over 230,000 tons of CO₂ mitigated, over 8.3 million tons of waste treated, over 52 million cubic meters of biogas produced per year, and over 335,000 hectares of land fertilized annually with biofertilizer, benefiting the environment and local agricultural systems.
