On January 9th, 2019, Nicaraguan Sistema.bio branch managed to establish a partnership with the Nicaraguan microfinance company FUNDENUSE to make available two million dollars in credits for Nicaraguan farmers. This is a collaboration that will have a great social impact for micro, small and medium scale holder farmers in this country.

The objective of the agreement is to implement the biodigester technology of Sistema.bio through credit funds from FUNDENUSE, organization that already has 26 years of successful history contributing to the socioeconomic development of farmers and producers in Nicaragua. To achieve this agreement, our allies of Water For People and Water Aid were crucial actors, since they, in collaboration with FUNDENUSE, have been promoting water and sanitation in Nicaragua for 4 years. It is also expected that for this year, Sistema.bio and FUNDENUSE will also have a presence in the SMART Center, an eco-technologies demonstration center created by Water Aid.

With this new achievement, we want to offer an alternative of green technologies to the homes and farms of Nicaragua, giving access to sanitation services and treatment of animal organic waste. In addition to the credit, Sistema.bio plans to carry out training session along with FUNDENUSE credit promoters and to perform promotion and sale activities about biodigesters.

This credit is available since last Monday (January 14th) and the requirements to obtain it are: identity card of the producer; to demonstrate that they perform some productive activity; proof of financial capacity to pay the credit; and to demonstrate a good credit history.
