Global energy shocks are reshaping how rural communities think about energy security. As geopolitical tensions in the Gulf highlighted India’s heavy reliance on imported LPG, with nearly 90% of the country’s supply coming from overseas, many rural households faced growing uncertainty over fuel availability and affordability.
Rather than waiting for the next disruption, thousands of dairy farming families are choosing a different path by producing their own clean energy.
Over the past six months, demand for biogas systems has surged as farmers increasingly seek reliable, locally produced alternatives to imported fuels. Responding to this shift, Sistema.bio has installed 10,000 biodigesters across multiple states in the first half of 2026, enabling 10,000 farming households to generate renewable biogas from livestock waste while also producing organic fertilizer.
The milestone reflects more than technology adoption. It signals a growing movement toward decentralized, resilient energy systems that strengthen rural livelihoods and reduce dependence on volatile global fuel markets.
This achievement was made possible through the dedication of our teams and the collaboration of our partners. Together, we are helping farming communities build greater energy independence while advancing climate resilience and circular agriculture, one biodigester at a time.
