Africa
Sankalp Africa 2025: Big Debates and Bold Solutions
Sankalp Africa, one of the continent’s most influential impact investment forums, brought together changemakers tackling Africa’s biggest challenges. At this year’s event, Sistema.bio joined a critical conversation on financing clean cooking solutions, an issue that sits at the intersection of climate action, gender equality, and public health.
For millions of women and girls, the lack of clean cooking is not just an inconvenience—it’s a daily struggle that impacts health, productivity, and the environment. Yet, funding for clean cooking remains insufficient, with few investment mechanisms designed to truly reach those most affected. Our panel discussion focused on practical ways to mobilize climate finance, ensuring that solutions are both accessible and impactful.
By engaging in these discussions—we are not just advocating for change, we are actively working to bridge the financing gap and drive real progress for communities across Africa.
Climate Dialogues with the King and Queen
At the Netherlands-Kenya Business Forum, held during the state visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, Sistema.bio was among the select few businesses chosen to exhibit, and we were honored to engage in a one-on-one conversation with the King and Queen.
During our discussion, we explored the critical role of clean cooking solutions in advancing climate action. We highlighted the significant impact of these innovations, especially for women and girls in vulnerable communities, and discussed how scaling this impact is possible if more partners from the Netherlands join the effort. The conversation also touched on collaborative opportunities across energy, agriculture, and sustainability sectors.
This exclusive engagement reaffirmed the global commitment to sustainable solutions, energizing us to pursue even greater impact through stronger international partnerships.
Africa is Listening!
In Q1 2025, over 46 million people across Africa have heard about Sistema.bio—a milestone that truly matters. Africa is a continent of untapped potential, and raising awareness is the first step in driving real, sustainable change. Through focused media placements, targeted digital campaigns, and strong partnerships with leading African outlets, our message is reaching the people who need it most.
This level of exposure is important because it plants the seeds for transformation. When communities learn about our innovative biogas solutions, they gain the knowledge to improve their health, boost local economies, and protect the environment. This is how change starts—by informing and empowering individuals to take action. As we build on this momentum, Sistema.bio remains dedicated to making a lasting impact across Africa.
Asia
Sistema.bio India partners with Forward7 and Air Products to bring clean energy revolution to Begusarai, Bihar
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Forward7 Initiative has partnered with Air Products and Sistema.bio to launch a project providing subsidized biodigesters to small farm owners in Begusarai, Bihar. Through this collaboration, over 400 biogas plants have been installed, improving access to clean cooking solutions and fostering rural development.
The project aims to transform rural communities by improving health, empowering women, uplifting marginalized groups, and reducing CO2 emissions from traditional cooking methods like wood and coal. Additionally, it seeks to stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and enhance rural infrastructure. By scaling up international cooperation, the initiative works towards mitigating climate change and supporting a sustainable future.

Sistema.bio expands its reach to two new countries – Sri Lanka and Papua New Guinea
Sri Lanka has a population of 22 million people, 80% of whom live in rural areas and work in agriculture and livestock. There are over 350,000 dairy farmers connected to both organized and local dairy networks. Sistema.bio, in partnership with SOLIDARIDAD, has secured a pilot order of 10 Sistema 6 units, scheduled for installation in April 2025. After showcasing the results and receiving approval from Sri Lanka’s government authorities, Sistema.bio will develop a Compliance Carbon Project. For the past three years, SOLIDARIDAD has supported Sistema.bio India and has successfully implemented hundreds of biogas projects.
Papua New Guinea (PNG), a parliamentary democracy and a Commonwealth nation, has a population of 12 million, with 85% of its people residing in rural areas. PNG has a thriving agricultural sector, with over 2,500 large dairy farms and approximately 300,000 smallholder farmers engaged in dairy and swine farming. Sistema.bio has partnered with the Pacific Waste Management Company in Lae, Morobe Province, to pilot both Sistema 6 and Sistema 8 units in PNG.
This initiative aims to showcase the technology to the local government and subsequently explore the potential for a Compliance Carbon Project. Importantly, PNG has signed a bilateral agreement under Article 6.2 with Singapore, positioning Singapore as a key buyer of carbon credits.
LATAM
Sistema.bio Strengthens Its Presence in Central America
Central America, a small region in terms of territory but vast in potential, is making significant strides in biodigestion adoption thanks to strategic commercial partnerships. In Guatemala, alongside Negawatt, we have promoted biodigestion among mid-sized farmers—an unexplored market until now. With four years of experience and a growing presence in the region, Negawatt has installed productive systems in 90% of its projects, ranging from Sistema 40 models to multi-reactor 400 systems.
In Honduras, expansion is also underway with Alteco. Two major examples showcase how some farmers have chosen to improve their productivity while making their operations more sustainable. Granja Delicias del Carmen, located in Comayagua, Honduras, started with a Sistema 240 and is now upgrading to a Sistema 400, optimizing its production. Meanwhile, Granja El Rincón is set to implement a Sistema 400, marking a milestone in sustainable swine waste management.
These success stories highlight the growth of biodigestion in the region and Sistema.bio’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
Partners Driving and Supporting Sistema.bio’s Impact in LATAM
Sistema.bio’s work in Latin America continues to gain recognition, thanks to the support of key partners in the agri-food sector. Two of our projects in Mexico have been highlighted in the 2024 annual reports of companies we collaborate with.
Louis Dreyfus Company showcased our work with coffee farmers, where the use of biofertilizer has improved both productivity and sustainability. This project demonstrates how biodigestion can transform agriculture—not only by reducing costs and enhancing soil regeneration but also as a mechanism for carbon reduction.
