Sistema.bio family is growing!
This Q1 had significant achievements, including the incorporation of new leadership positions to the team.
In Mexico city headquarters, Graciela Álvarez took the leadership as LATAM director, and she will be consolidating Mexico, Nicaragua and Colombia HUBS operations with new commercial strategies to maximize Sistema.bio impact in the North, Central, and South America.
In addition, David Toxqui became Senior Systems Administrator, he will be supporting the five HUBS operations; in the communications department, Montserrat Cortez joined the team as our Global Community Manager, she will help us increase our social media presence in all of our channels.
Esther Altorfer continues in her COO role, having a new role as a Country Director of Kenya, Mohini Patel is taking the management of the IT area to strengthen the operations department growth.
Our commercial strategies are essential to achieving our goals, therefore, there are three new roles: Atul Mittal and Steve Manyasi became our Business Development Managers in India and Kenya respectively, also Jackeline Mwandawiro joined this Q1 as the Kenyan Marketing and Communication Manager.
In 2019, Sistema.bio is strengthening our internal culture, retaining talent and building a career path for each of our team members. In order to put in place this strategy, Cécile Pompeï joined Mexico City HQ as Chief of Staff, and Carlette Chepngeno as Culture and Talent Manager in Kenya Hub.
Our first Global Live Call!
Last April 1st we had our first global call in the history of Sistema.bio, the 171 team members in 5 countries had the opportunity to e-meet!
Our CEO Alex Eaton was the host of this Global Call, and the objective was to share 2018 key achievements and 2019 goals. It was also an excellent opportunity to celebrate the team, meet each other and share.

Mexico’s new growth strategy
Mexico’s office implemented a strategy directed by our new country director, Graciela Álvarez. This includes the integration of Sales Technicians in the three strategic areas of the country.
In this Q1, the integration of the Sales Technicians was implemented as part of the strategic initiatives for Mexico 2019, the objective is to have greater access to the market and consolidate the organizational structure in the commercial area.
The main function of the new members of the team is to expand our reach and sell our biodigesters in the states of Jalisco, Yucatán, Querétaro and Central Area (CDMX, Estado de México, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, and Morelos). With this, we seek to meet our goal of selling 1,000 biodigesters in Mexico by the end of 2019.
First advanced technical training in Eldoret, Kenya
20 technicians, senior technicians, and technical management people were trained in one of our Kenya HUBS.
Quirin Walter (Kenya’s Technical Manager) and Maxence Affre (Global Technical Manager) were in charge of this 5 days training. The main goal was to make sure that our large installations comply with client expectations, being standardized over the world. These standards were consolidated mainly thanks to Mexico’s technical team and our experience from Kenya and India.
Our short-term plan is to implement and adapt this training for our LATAM and India HUBS.
Improving our organizational culture
As part of Sistema.bio’s growth, the company is improving all internal processes including HR and organizational culture.
We have set a strategic objectives initiative across the company to make sure that every activity of the team contributes to reaching the company’s business objectives.
To ensure this, individual performance reviews will take place twice a year, being the first one during March. This evaluation is also intended to ensure the career growth of every member of the organization.
Culture and Talent Department is leading this initiative along with other activities that will enhance a positive and motivating environment within the company.
