Pinnacle Progress: 2023 - A Year of Collective Impact and Global Reach
Navigating the dynamic challenges posed by climate change, the clarion call for sustainable and impactful solutions resounds with heightened urgency as we usher in the promising year of 2024. The global environmental tableau, having borne witness to the amplified effects of climate change throughout 2023—ranging from extreme weather events to disruptions in agriculture—commands swift and decisive action. Against this compelling backdrop, our unwavering commitment to championing intelligent climate solutions for farmers and the environment has reached unprecedented strength.
Over the past year, the collaborative synergy of our dedicated teams and full-service partner networks achieved a monumental milestone, reaching 45,000 small farms across 35 countries with the delivery of clean-renewable energy and biofertilizers. This transformative endeavor positively impacted the lives of more than 270,000 individuals, underscoring the power of collective action and steadfast support from our team and strategic partners.
In a world where the repercussions of inaction are palpable, Sistema.bio stands tall as a beacon of hope, reinforcing the belief that meaningful change is not merely attainable but absolutely imperative. As we navigate the intricate challenges of a shifting climate in 2024, Sistema.bio remains resolute in its commitment and confidence, emerging as a proactive force in mitigating the far-reaching impacts of climate change. Our vision for 2024 extends beyond borders, aiming to impact an additional 280 thousand people in the next 12 months, with a comprehensive plan to expand our initiatives into new geographical frontiers such as South American west, southern Africa, and Asian countries like Bhutan and Bangladesh. This tireless pursuit aligns with our overarching goal of contributing to the mitigation of 1% of the Global GHG by 2023, marking a pivotal step towards a sustainable and resilient future for all.
Sistema.bio India exceeds targets, expands reach, and sets the stage for sustainable impact

East Africa News
This past quarter, Sistema.bio concluded a pilot program in Ethiopia, introducing biodigesters across key and highly populous regions, including Oromia, SNNPR (Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region), and Sidama.
Through this initiative, 112 biodigesters and accompanying appliances, such as biogas stoves, burners, water heaters, and forage choppers, were successfully installed. The project focused on extensively training users in the operation and maintenance of these biodigesters, providing comprehensive manuals, conducting service visits, and offering warranties for up to 10 years on the reactors and one year on the appliances.
Sistema.bio also conducted technical and economic feasibility studies in partnership with Chercher Farmers Union and Misale Agro Industry, exploring the viability of large-scale biogas plants to power productive appliances. The positive outcomes have led to proposals and quotations for implementation, contributing to the transition towards renewable energy in the region.
The project’s impact goes beyond installations; it has empowered local biogas champions, benefited communities with clean cooking and renewable energy, and introduced modern biogas technology to stakeholders. The success of this venture has revealed Ethiopia’s promising potential as a market, propelling Sistema.bio’s commitment to establishing a sustainable business and reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.
Sistema.bio proudly announces its partnership with Lanforce Energy, a leading entity in Zimbabwe’s renewable energy sector, committed to introducing biodigester technology and uplifting smallholder farmers countrywide.
Based in Harare, Lanforce Energy specializes in versatile biogas digesters, aligning with its mission to promote sustainable energy access since its establishment in 2010 and full operational launch in 2018.
The collaborative efforts between Sistema.bio and Lanforce Energy, initiated in 2021, have led to successful biodigester installations across Zimbabwe. Sistema.bio supports Lanforce Energy’s expansion endeavors by jointly pursuing tenders and grants.
In a milestone achievement, Lanforce Energy partnered with the Modern Cooking Facility for Africa (MCFA) and UNHCR to drive clean energy solutions. The MCFA Project, launched on December 6, 2023, targets installing 2,500 biogas digesters and 6,131 cookstoves over four years, supported by the Modern Clean Cooking Facility for Africa.
Their joint initiative with UNHCR focuses on sustainable systems for Tongogara Refugee Camp, including a Sistema 160 biodigester; piping biogas to camp households, each equipped with a Sistema.bio cookstove.
Sistema.bio’s role extends to funding partnerships and capacity-building support, while Lanforce Energy oversees implementation.
A year ago in October, Sistema.bio began its impactful journey in Uganda, venturing into the picturesque landscapes of the Pearl of Africa. The year-long expedition has been marked by growth, impact, and unwavering dedication.
To commemorate this significant milestone, our Uganda team embarked on an inspiring roadshow, spanning Central, Eastern, and Western Uganda. Beyond spreading awareness about biogas, they carried the message of change and clean cooking, leaving an indelible mark wherever they journeyed.
Much like a toddler’s first steps, our Uganda team has found its footing. Through dedication and purpose, they’ve made remarkable progress, imbibed valuable lessons, and notably enriched communities while preserving the environment.
This year stands as a testament to our commitment to sustainable solutions. It’s been a year of progress, learning, and most importantly, a year of making a meaningful difference in the lives of communities across Uganda.
As we raise a toast to this fantastic year of growth, learning, and spreading the essence of biogas in the Pearl of Africa, we celebrate the resilience, dedication, and impact achieved. Here’s to many more milestones and continued impact.
Huge Achievement for Sistema.bio LATAM: Sustainable energy project concludes in the Yucatán Peninsula
Sistema.bio LATAM concludes 2023 with a historic milestone: the installation of 1,500 biodigesters in the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico, thanks to the collaboration between IRRI, W. K. Kellogg Foundation, Sistema.bio, and local communities.
The Sustainable Sanitation, Energy, and Food Security Project (2021-2023) culminates with results that fill us with pride. After three years of implementation, 7,800 people from Mayan communities now have a source of clean and renewable energy, smoke-free kitchens, improved respiratory health, and cleaner farms. Moreover, we’ve used biofertilizer to fertilize 20,000 hectares of land, encouraging sustainable farming and aiding in soil recovery.
In addition to promoting the circular economy, this initiative will prevent the emission of 9,000 tons of CO2eq each year, thanks to Sistema.bio’s technology and the commitment of the entire team that worked on this project.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this great step!

Sistema.bio LATAM joins efforts with Amazon Conservation Team
Sistema.bio has formed a strategic alliance with the Amazon Conservation Team to promote sustainable practices in municipalities within the Colombian Amazon. This collaboration resulted in the installation of six biodigesters in the Caquetá Department, marking an initial stage to introduce producers to the technology and its benefits. This enables them to assess the potential for increased installations, impacting the lives of many more users.
This project that fills with proud the Sistema.bio LATAM team, seamlessly integrates our expertise, service, and technology with the Amazon Conservation Team’s commitment to environmental conservation and empowering local communities. It represents an opportunity to create socio-economic and environmental impact in this crucially biodiverse region of Colombia.
Developing these alliances exemplifies the significance of collaborative and innovative actions in achieving a more sustainable world, fostering better agricultural practices and reducing environmental footprint.
